Lucky attributes are not magic, they are tilt. Chaldean tradition assigns every Birth Number a ruling planet, and that planet makes certain days, colours, stones, metals and directions more accessible to you than others. Cheiro's tables have been used by practitioners for over a century, and the useful way to read them is as a thumb on the scale rather than a law of physics.
The attribute that applies to you is set by your Birth Number, also called Moolank: the single digit your day of birth reduces to. Born on the 23rd? 2 + 3 = 5, so you read Number 5. Born on the 8th, 17th or 26th? You read Number 8. Everything on this page is organised that way.
Every number at a glance
This is the comparison most numerology sites never give you, because it makes the overlaps visible. Notice that Numbers 3, 6 and 9 share the same lucky numbers, and that Sunday appears as a strong day for four different numbers for quite different reasons.

How to actually use this
The attributes are not equally worth your attention, and treating them as equal is the most common mistake. Ranked by leverage:
- Day and date come first. They are free, and they are the only attribute you fully control. Moving a signing, launch, registration or difficult conversation onto your ruling planet's weekday is the highest-value change on this page.
- Colour is second. Cheap, low-risk, and it compounds quietly. It matters most where the stakes and the visibility are both high: weddings, pitches, interviews, launches.
- Direction and metal are third. Worth setting once, then forgetting. Position the desk, buy the one ring.
- Gemstones come last, despite being what most people ask about first. They are the most expensive and the most cautioned attribute in the entire tradition.
The gemstone caution, stated once properly
- Traditional practice treats blue sapphire (Number 8) and cat's eye (Number 7) as strong enough to require a trial: wear casually for 7 to 10 days first.
- If anything in daily life noticeably destabilises during the trial, remove the stone. That instruction is part of the tradition, not a disclaimer bolted on.
- Stones interact with each chart differently, which is exactly why tradition recommends a practitioner for the high-impact ones rather than a chart from a website.
- No stone is required. Every other attribute on this page works without one.
For high-stakes events, practitioners stack attributes rather than relying on one. A lucky date that also falls on your lucky weekday is meaningfully stronger than either alone, and that combination is what people are usually looking for when they ask about muhurat for a marriage, a registration or a business launch.

☀Number 1 · Sun
For those born on the 1st, 10th, 19th or 28th. Number 1 draws vitality from the Sun, and the luckiest hours fall between sunrise and noon while the Sun is still climbing. Decisions, signatures and openings made in that window land more cleanly than the same act attempted at dusk. The Sun rewards being seen, so this is the one number whose attributes work best when they are visible rather than discreet: the gold worn where people notice it, the announcement made publicly.

☾Number 2 · Moon
For those born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th or 29th. The Moon runs on cycles rather than climbs, so Number 2's timing is less about a fixed hour and more about the lunar phase: waxing for beginnings, waning for closing things out. Evening hours suit this number better than early morning. Number 2's attributes work in the opposite direction from Number 1's, favouring the soft, the reflective and the understated, which is why silver and pearl rather than gold and ruby.

♃Number 3 · Jupiter
For those born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st or 30th. Jupiter governs expansion, teaching and counsel, and its hours are mid-morning, once the day has structure but before it has pressure. Number 3 is the number most rewarded by saying yes to scale: the bigger version of the plan tends to go better than the cautious one. Thursday is the strongest day in the whole table for making an ask, whether that is a raise, a loan, an admission or a proposal.

◈Number 4 · Rahu
For those born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd or 31st. Rahu is the shadow node, and its attribute set is the most unusual in the table: it is the only number told to avoid pure colours in both directions, red and white alike, because Rahu operates in the mixed and the in-between. Its hours are dusk and twilight. Number 4 is also the number for whom timing discipline matters most, since Rahu's characteristic failure is the impulsive decision made at the wrong moment that could have gone well three days later.

☿Number 5 · Mercury
For those born on the 5th, 14th or 23rd. Mercury rules communication and exchange, so Number 5's attributes are best spent on anything involving words or negotiation: contracts, launches, interviews, difficult conversations. Its hours are split, early morning and late afternoon, matching Mercury's twin nature. Wednesday is the single best day in this table for sending the message you have been putting off.

♀Number 6 · Venus
For those born on the 6th, 15th or 24th. Venus governs beauty, harmony and partnership, and this is the number whose attributes matter most for relational events specifically: engagements, weddings, reconciliations, anything where how it felt matters as much as what was agreed. Late afternoon into early evening is the Venus window. Friday carries the strongest weight of any single day-number pairing in the table.

☋Number 7 · Ketu
For those born on the 7th, 16th or 25th. Ketu is the tail node, associated with detachment and inward sight, and Number 7's hours are pre-dawn, the quietest part of the day. This is the number least served by forcing visibility and most served by withdrawal before a decision. Note the cat's eye caution: it is one of the two stones in this table that tradition insists you trial before committing to.

♄Number 8 · Saturn
For those born on the 8th, 17th or 26th. Saturn is the slowest-moving of the planets and Number 8's attributes reflect it: the deep colours, the heavy metals, the late-evening hours. This is the only number whose lucky palette is the dark end of the spectrum, which trips people up when they assume dark equals unlucky. Saturn rewards patience and punishes the shortcut, so Number 8 gains more from choosing the later correct date than any other number in the table. Blue sapphire is the most cautioned stone in Chaldean practice; trial it.

♂Number 9 · Mars
For those born on the 9th, 18th or 27th. Mars is the planet of drive and confrontation, and Number 9's hours are midday, when heat peaks. This is the number best suited to using its lucky day for something requiring nerve rather than diplomacy: the negotiation you intend to win, the boundary you intend to hold. Tuesday is Mars's own day and carries the most force of any day in the table.

Why some numbers overlap
The repetitions in the table are not sloppiness in the tradition, they are structure. Numbers 3, 6 and 9 share the lucky set 3, 6, 9 because Jupiter, Venus and Mars form one of Cheiro's planetary triangles. Numbers 1 and 3 both take gold because Sun and Jupiter are traditionally allied. Numbers 2 and 7 share pearl and moonstone because Moon and Ketu are both reflective rather than radiant bodies. Where you see overlap, there is usually a stated planetary relationship behind it, and the compound numbers guide covers how those relationships were derived.
One honest note
None of these attributes are deterministic. A perfect lucky-day, lucky-colour, lucky-gemstone combination will not save a fundamentally misaligned decision, and none of them are required for a good life. They are tilt, not truth. Use them where the tilt is cheap and the stakes are high; ignore them everywhere else. Anyone telling you that a stone is mandatory, or that a wrong colour will cause harm, has left the tradition and entered the sales pitch.

Frequently asked
How do I know which number's lucky attributes apply to me?
Use your Birth Number (Moolank), the single digit your day of birth reduces to. Born on the 23rd? 2+3 = 5, so Number 5 attributes apply. The table on this page is organised by Birth Number.
Which is the most important lucky attribute to actually use?
Day and date, because they cost nothing and are easy to control. Choosing your ruling planet's weekday for a signing, launch or important conversation is the highest-leverage change. Colours are second. Gemstones are the most expensive and the most cautioned.
Do I need to wear a gemstone for my number to work?
No. Gemstones are optional and traditionally the most cautioned of all the attributes. Blue sapphire for Number 8 and cat's eye for Number 7 are strong enough that Chaldean practitioners recommend a 7 to 10 day trial before sustained wear.
Why do some numbers share the same lucky colours and metals?
Because the planets behind them sit in harmonic relationship under Cheiro's planetary triangles. Numbers 3, 6 and 9 share a triangle, which is why their lucky numbers overlap. Numbers 1 and 3 both take gold as metal because Sun and Jupiter are traditionally allied.
What if my lucky colour is one I dislike or cannot wear?
Use it in small or hidden ways: a lining, a pen, a phone case, a notebook, a file cover for the specific occasion. The tradition treats these attributes as tilt rather than requirement, so partial use is normal and there is no penalty for skipping one.
